Located in Kazakhstan, this is one of the fastest-growing modern nations in Central Asia. Known for its futuristic skyline and extreme continental climate, the country presents unique challenges for its outdoor lighting infrastructure.
The project site encompasses important municipal and architectural landmarks, which placed stringent demands on the lighting solutions: they had to deliver exceptional visual performance while withstanding extreme temperature variations.
Kazakhstan's increasing emphasis on energy-efficient infrastructure and smart city development makes this project a strategic demonstration of the application of LED lighting technology in harsh environments.
The client's main requirements for this lighting project in Kazakhstan include:
Extreme climate adaptability: All luminaires must operate reliably under the harsh winter conditions of Astana.
Energy efficiency: The lighting system must significantly reduce energy consumption compared to traditional lighting solutions while maintaining excellent lighting quality.
Architectural aesthetic enhancement: The lighting design should highlight the building's architectural features, showcasing its modern and dignified character.
Durability and long lifespan: Products must have low light decay and long lifespan to minimize maintenance needs at remote project sites.
Compliance: All luminaires must comply with international quality standards and local Kazakhstani regulations on outdoor lighting installation.
A comprehensive lighting solution was tailored to the specific architectural characteristics of the project in Kazakhstan:
LED wall washers were deployed on the building's façade to create a uniform curtain of light—a "wall-washing" effect—that enhances the building's texture and creates a sense of visual depth. Meticulous fixture placement ensures even light distribution, free from dark spots or glare, resulting in a refined nighttime appearance.
LED in-ground lights were installed along main walkways and the ground-floor façade to provide soft, low-level illumination. The recessed design balances safety with aesthetics, offering elegant accent lighting that guides visitors and highlights landscape elements.
LED floodlights are used to provide focused lighting for building columns, structural elements, and surrounding areas. Multiple beam angle and power options enable precise control over light distribution and intensity.
Intelligent Control Integration:
The system integrates intelligent control options, supporting flexible scene management and automatic scheduling, reducing operating costs.
