The Yanpingtang Bridge on Provincial Highway 07 in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, serves as a vital hub connecting the urban traffic network and spans the busy Yanpingtang waterway. As a landmark steel-structured tied-arch bridge in the region, it is not only a key transportation route but also an important showcase of the city's image. This nightscape lighting project aims to breathe new life into this magnificent bridge after dark through scientific lighting design.
The Yanpingtang Bridge is located at the intersection of water and land routes, featuring a humid environment and heavy traffic. Therefore, the client put forward the following strict requirements:
· High Safety: The lamps must possess excellent waterproof, lightning protection and anti-corrosion performance to ensure stable long-term operation in the humid river surface environment.
· Aesthetics: The architectural beauty of the bridge in daytime must not be impaired, and the night lighting shall integrate seamlessly with the streamlined steel structure of the bridge.
· Energy Saving and Environmental Protection: Adopt low-energy LED light sources to reduce the energy consumption burden of cities.
· Intelligent Control: It shall support switching between holiday mode and weekday mode to achieve dynamic light show effects.
In view of the structural characteristics of the Yanpingtang Bridge, we adopt a three-dimensional design concept combining "outline delineation and overall floodlighting":
Contour Reshaping: LED Linear Lights with high waterproof ratings are installed along the bridge arches and truss structures. Acting as the bridge’s "neon brushes", these linear lights trace the intricate steel trusses clearly and smoothly across the night sky, accentuating the structural aesthetic.
Atmosphere Creation: Install high-power LED Flood Lights on the sides and underside of the bridge. Adopt precise light control technology to illuminate the entire side surface of the bridge, creating a distinct dominant cyan-blue tone. During festivals, the lighting can switch to various dynamic colors such as red, green and blue, forming a stunning interplay with reflections on the water surface.
Visual Focus: The iconic lettering of the Yanpingtang Bridge at the bridgehead adopts bright yellow light, creating a classic contrast between warm and cool tones against the dominant blue-and-white color scheme, and serving as the visual focal point for night travel along the entire highway.
To achieve uniform and gorgeous lighting effects on the bridge structure, this project adopts high-standard outdoor lighting fixtures. The main list is as follows:
Custom high-power RGBW floodlights are installed on the sides and underside of the bridge arch for large-area color rendering and overall bridge illumination.
Flexible LED linear lights with high protection class precisely outline the geometric contours of bridge steel structures and highlight the skeletal aesthetic of arch bridges.
Supporting System: Intelligent DMX512 control decoder and waterproof power supply to ensure stable and synchronous operation of the entire system.
Upon completion, the bridge stretches across the water like a luminous blue giant dragon. LED Linear Lights trace precise geometric lines, while LED Flood Lights cast expansive dreamy blue illumination. The entire scene brims with futurism and technological appeal, instantly turning it into a popular urban nightscape photography spot.
